Connection Methods For Netafim Techline Drip Emitter Tubing
Techline and Drip Emitter Tubing Installation Methods This Tutorial will cover several ways for connecting Drip Emitter Tubing and Solid Drip Tubing to Distribution Lines. We will look at connections with no flow control and with flow control. These are recommendations based on some of the more popular methods of connections, but by no means are these the only methods for connections. Component Installation Options: As with other component illustrations there are several ways to install drip lines (soaker hose) for a drip irrigation installation. We will now provide several examples using a variety of components, all of which work on the same principle. We will look at connecting 1/2" and 3/4" and larger distribution lines seperately. As you can see from the illustration below we have also distinguished parts for either 12mm Techline EZ or 17mm Techline.
** When using insert fittings using a gear or crimp clamp is recommended
Additional Methods: In addition to the connection assemblies illustrated above it is also possible to connect the drip lines using 12mm Techline EZ or 17 mm Techline as your Supply and Exhaust headers using standard 12mm and 17mm Tee and Elbow Fittings found in the Techline Fittings Category.
Adding Flow Control To Your Drip Lines When installing longer drip lines that may cultivate an individual crop it is often beneficial to add flow control to the individual line; illustrated below are a few examples of component assemblies to achieve flow control. Flow control can be simply added mid-line at any point or connected to the connection assembly. Drip Emitter Tubing with insert fittings (not intended for removing Drip Emitter Tubing lines)
Connecting Drip Lines from 1/2" Solid Drip Tubing For smaller systems it may be possible to connect drip lines to 1/2" Solid Drip Tubing (when flow rate for drip lines is under 250 gph). The following components provide the best connection combination and allow for easy removal of drip lines.
